August is Water Quality Month

Water Quality

Water Quality Month is recognized each August to highlight the importance of our world’s fresh water resources. Since we’ve dedicated our daily work to providing excellent water for our customers across Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas, we’d like to take it one step further to invite you to learn more about water’s benefits as well. Let’s take a look at how essential water is to our daily lives and what we can do to use it wisely and use it well!

Why Is Water Important?

Only 3% of all water on Earth is usable, fresh water.

Did you know that only 3% of Earth’s water resources are fresh water? And, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, over 68% of fresh water is still inaccessible since it’s found in icecaps and glaciers. This means that we have a very limited amount of water we can access for use and the care and keeping of it is incredibly important!

At Advanced Water Solutions, we understand that having access to water you feel good about using is an important part of caring for your home, business, and loved ones. Water Quality Month is a great chance to highlight what inspires our mission and our business – to provide the best water we can to our customers while simultaneously helping you
1) be smart about your water use
2) protect the environment with sustainable solutions
3) enjoy using and consuming quality water in every aspect of your life.

How Do Advanced Water Systems Help?

Reverse Osmosis Systems ensure the water you’re using is safe for consumption and free of contaminants.

To reiterate, humans can only access a small percentage of the already miniscule amount of available fresh water. This 1% of available water is found in lakes, rivers, groundwater, aquifers, and streams. Unfortunately, pollution poses a major problem to these sources of fresh water with agricultural runoff, public infrastructure leakage, and industrial pollution, and everyday use of chemicals and products at home. Luckily, cities have the infrastructure in place to treat and distribute water to residents since any water that leaves a municipal water treatment facility has to meet the guidelines for the Safe Drinking Water Act. However, municipal water treatment only goes so far and still may not be EPA approved… That’s where we come in.

Our top rated water filtration systems take the existing, standard municipal water treatment methods and add an extra layer of filtration, purification, and treatment. Why is this necessary? While water treatment rules and regulations help, they’re not foolproof in protecting you from contaminants that enter the water stream on it’s way to your home or business like lead, arsenic, copper, nitrates, fluoride, TDS, and more.

A water filter, such as a reverse osmosis system, can help ensure you’re getting the most purified H2O available. Water goes through a multi-stage filtration process to rid water of unwanted contaminants. Our water filtration systems offer a final barrier for your drinking water, protecting you from corrosion and contamination.

Environmentally friendly? You bet! Opt for a water filtration system over disposable water bottles and go green.

What Are the Benefits?

Water Quality Month offers a great reason to examine personal water use and how to improve your water and life! One excellent benefit of a water filtration system or water softener is their environmental impact.

Check out some ways a water system can help you go green…
– Reverse Osmosis Systems eliminate the need for disposable plastic bottles
– Water Softeners extend the lifespan of your water-using appliances
– Systems use environmentally sound water treatment methods
– Reduce household spending on products like detergents, water bottles, and unnecessary waste

Going green is great, but the biggest bonus to water treatment is your health! Researchers have discovered that drinking hard water can affect your health, and it’s not hard to imagine what potentially dangerous impurities in water could do to your body. Additionally, unfiltered or hard water will affect your skin, hair, and nails by causing mineral build up that leads to itching, flaking, and dull-looking skin. The investment in a water treatment system is well worth it when you consider all there is to gain!
